Switching Providers: What If You’ve Had TMS Treatment Before?

How Inspire TMS Denver Can Help You Continue or Restart Your TMS Journey

If you’ve undergone TMS therapy before, whether recently or years ago, and you’re considering switching providers, you may be wondering what your options are. Can you pick up where you left off? Do you need to start over? Will your insurance still cover it?

At Inspire TMS Denver, we regularly work with patients who’ve had prior TMS treatment. Whether you’re looking to continue care, explore maintenance options, or try a more advanced protocol like Accelerated TMS, we’re here to guide you through the process.

Why Patients Switch TMS Providers

There are many reasons why someone might seek a new TMS provider:

  • You’ve moved or relocated
  • You weren’t satisfied with the previous experience
  • Your prior clinic didn’t offer newer protocols like Accelerated TMS
  • You experienced initial improvement but symptoms have returned
  • You’re looking for a more personalized or data-driven approach

Regardless of the reason, transitioning care to Inspire TMS is smooth and supportive.

Not Sure If Insurance Covers TMS?

Get a personalized estimate - see if you qualify for insurance and what you’d pay without coverage.

Step 1: Complimentary Review & Consultation

We offer a free 10–15-minute phone consultation with Dr. Sam Clinch to understand your treatment history and current needs. During this call, we’ll discuss:

  • Your previous TMS protocol and number of sessions completed
  • How you responded to treatment (symptom relief, side effects, etc.)
  • Whether you may benefit from maintenance sessions, re-treatment, or an updated protocol

Not sure what you received previously? That’s okay - we can work with you to gather the records or contact your previous provider if needed.

Step 2: Evaluation for Maintenance or Accelerated TMS

Based on your history, Dr. Clinch may recommend one of the following:

Maintenance TMS

Ideal for patients who have had a good response but feel symptoms creeping back.

You’ll typically receive 1–2 sessions per week for several weeks.

Accelerated TMS

If you’ve had TMS in the past but didn’t see full resolution, or if you’re seeking quicker results, our Accelerated TMS protocol may be a better fit. This intensive option delivers the full course of TMS over just 5 days.

Full Re-treatment

In cases where it’s been a long time or your previous response was partial, a full re-treatment using updated protocols may be the most effective route.

Step 3: Insurance Review & Seamless Transition

If insurance covered your prior treatment, there’s a good chance it will cover your continued or renewed care - especially if you experienced a relapse or partial improvement.

Our team will:

  • Contact your insurance to confirm coverage
  • Coordinate any necessary referrals or documentation
  • Help streamline the transfer of previous records (if needed)

Tip: Use our TMS Coverage & Cost Estimator to get a personalized estimate today.

Why Choose Inspire TMS?

  • Care led by a TMS-specialized physician (not a generalist)
  • Access to standard, accelerated, and maintenance protocols
  • Transparent tracking of outcomes and symptom changes
  • A comfortable and calming clinic environment with private rooms
  • Insurance-friendly and sliding scale available
