TMS is an FDA-approved, non-invasive treatment for depression, especially when medications haven’t worked.
It uses magnetic pulses to stimulate mood-related areas of the brain - no drugs, no sedation, no downtime.
At Inspire TMS Denver, we offer personalized care, insurance support, and proven clinical outcomes to help you feel better - faster.
What Is TMS Therapy?
TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is a non-invasive brain stimulation therapy used to treat depression and other mental health conditions. It's especially effective for those who haven’t responded well to antidepressants or can't tolerate the side effects of medication.
3 to 20-minute sessions (depending on insurance), 5 days per week for 6 weeks
Many patients come to us after trying multiple antidepressants with little relief or intolerable side effects. TMS offers a different approach - one that targets the brain directly, without changing your body chemistry.
Still not sure whether TMS is a good fit? Take a few moments to reflect on these questions - and if any resonate, our one-minute quiz can give you personalized clarity:
AskYourself:
Have I tried multiple medications or therapies without sustained relief?
Am I experiencing persistent symptoms of depression, anxiety, OCD, or PTSD?
Would I prefer a treatment that doesn't rely on daily medication?
Am I comfortable with a 5-day-a-week schedule for 1 to 2 months?
If you answered yes to any of these, TMS might be a great match and our quiz can help you explore next steps with no pressure or commitment:
Most patients describe it as a light tapping or clicking sensation on the scalp. There's no need for anesthesia, and you're fully awake and alert during treatment.
How long is each session?
A typical session lasts 3 to 18.5 minutes. You can drive yourself to and from appointments and return to your day right after.
Is TMS covered by insurance?
Yes - TMS is covered by most major insurance providers. We verify your coverage and handle pre-authorization so you don’t have to.
What if I don’t have insurance?
We offer several ways to make TMS accessible without insurance:
Sliding scale pricing based on income
Third-party financing options (6–14 month plans)
Free 10–15 minute consultation to walk through your options
How soon will I feel better?
Some patients begin to notice improvement within the first 2–3 weeks, while others respond later in the course. We track your progress throughout treatment to adjust your care as needed.
Are there side effects?
TMS is well tolerated. The most common side effect is mild scalp discomfort or headache after the session, which typically fades with time.
Is TMS like ECT (shock therapy)?
Not at all. TMS is non-invasive and does not require sedation or cause memory loss. It’s fundamentally different from electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).
